Virtually:
We can meet via Facetime, Messenger or set up a Zoom call if meeting in person is difficult, there are time constraints, or that’s just how you roll. All the required paperwork can be signed and witnessed, then scanned and lodged this way.
My Home Office:
You are welcome to come to my home office in Farrer on weekdays during business hours.
QT in Acton:
I also hold meetings, usually while holding a glass of wine, at the Fabulous QT in Acton after hours on a Tuesday or Thursday evening – also a perfect place for date night/night off from kids.
A Notice of Intent to Marry form must be signed and lodged with your celebrant 1 month prior to your marriage. This can be done virtually if needed.
You may need assistance with a shortening of time application or supporting letter for fiancé visa applications. I am very experienced celebrant and would be happy to help you navigate these forms.
Once you are married, I will register your Marriage with the relevant BDM ASAP. I can apply for your Marriage Certificate from either the ACT or NSW BDM at a fee of $75. This is best practice and the easiest way for you as you do not have to fill in any forms. Your certificate will then be posted to you.
You will need your official marriage certificate from BDM. To update your married surname, you need to prove your marriage with an official marriage certificate from BDM. Please note your commemorative certificate is not accepted.
You then give the relevant organisations a copy of your marriage certificate. Usually you start with your licence, passport, bank, and so on.
With equality either of you can change your surname, not just the Bride.
I generally do not travel for ceremonies. I’m happy to go within 50k of the ACT.
By Celebrant – Monitum of Marriage
My name is Julie Rattenbury and I am a duly authorised civil celebrant, duly authorised to legalise this, your marriage today. Before you are joined in my presence and in the presence of everyone here today, your witnesses, I am to remind you of the serious, the solemn and the binding nature of the relationship you are about to enter. Marriage, according to the laws of Australia is the union of a two people, it is made in the deepest sense to the exclusion of all others and is voluntarily entered into for life.
By the Couple – Partner to Partner
I ask all here present to witness that from today I Full Name, take you Full Name, to be my lawful wedded wife/husband/spouse/partner.
Two meetings plus an onsite rehearsal whenever possible. Yes, a walk through just before your day is a wise idea, no charge, it is part of my service.
We make sure we are all on the same page, I also get to meet some of your family and friends so when I talk about them, I know who they are.
I like to call it a walk though and it usually happens within 48 hours before your ceremony.
Attire that will blend in well with your bridal party. Not my lime green moomoo! Happy to show you and have your approval prior to your day.
